The Tullahoma swim teams held their last home meet of the season on Tuesday, hosting Coffee County and Fayetteville.
The Wildcats have four seniors on this year’s team, Will Swiger, Bryleigh Holder, Olivia Murphy and Ellie Uehlein. The team honored them after the Women’s 500 yard freestyle event, during the meet’s 15 minute break.
The meet began with the high school Women’s 200 yard medley relay team of Jessica Jones, Olivia Murphy, Ellie Uehlein and Ella Farmer winning the event with a time of two minutes 4.50 seconds. The East middle team had the best middle school finish with a time of 2:16.49. The team was made up of Jayla Brotemarkle, Jacy Kate Murray, Ella-Gracin Bennett and Sophie Farmer. Murray won the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:22.54. Ethan Brotemarkle and Will Swiger both won the 200 yard free. Brotemarkle finished in 1:55.13 to beat all swimmers and Swiger finished in 2:05.23 to beat all high school swimmers. Hallie Tips got the first win for West Middle in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:28.89. Dallas Lopez won the Men’s 200 yard IM for middle school swimmers with a time of 3:14.21. Murphy won the 50 yard free in 25.15 seconds. Uehlein won the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:06.31 and qualified for State with her performance. Ben Teal won the 100 yard fly for middle school with a time of 1:35.56. Jones finished first in the 100 yard free in 59.86 seconds. Uehlein and Samantha Johnson both won the women’s 500 free. Uehlein was the first overall finisher with a time of 6:35.01 and Johnson was the first middle school finisher on 6:53.69 picking up another win for West. Will Nelson won the 500 yard free for the high school with a time of 5:29.69. East Middle and the High School won the women’s 200 yard free relay. The East team of Bennet, Farmer, Jayla Brotemarkle and Murray finished first overall with a time of 1:59.49. The high school team of Avery Sisk, Lexi Lester, Holder and Mary Murray placed first for high school teams in 2:02.90. Murphy won another solo event, the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.99. Tipps also won the event for middle school, finishing in 1:05.91. Swiger won the 100 yard back with a time of 1:06.87. Johnson won the 100 yard breaststroke for middle school swimmers, with her time of 1:30.36. Ethan Brotemarkle won the Men’s 100 yard breast. He finished with the best overall time of 1:08.12.
Other notable finishes during the meet included the West middle 200 yard medley relay team finishing right behind East with a time of 2:34.26 for second place. Lester finishing second in the women’s 200 yard free in 2:32.81. Farmer finishing second in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:58.08. Will Nelson placed second in the 50 yard free in 26.23 seconds. Murray and Jayla Brotemarkle finished second and third in the 100 yard fly. Murray with a time of 1:22 and Brotemarkle right behind her at 1:24.56. Carly Siebenberg finished the 100 yard free in 1:14.51 to finish second for East Middle. Skye Lee placed second in the 500 yard free with a time of 7:08.91. The THS 200 yard free relay team of Jenna Gill, Leah Fogarty, Sarie Hoffner and Claire Fogarty finished in second with a time of 2:14.93. Bennett placed second for middle school in the Women’s 100 yard breast with a time of 1:36.51. The Tullahoma 400 yard free relay team of Uehlein, Lester, Holder and Murphy finished second with a time of 4:25.17. The team of Farmer, Sisk, Claire Fogarty and Jones finished right behind them in 4:43.72.Â
