Lady Vikings’ Compton Tosses Third No-Hitter of Season in Win Over M-East
Tennessee High’s Carly Compton tossed her third no-hitter of the season in a 10-0 win over Morristown East Monday evening at Rotary Park.
The victory was also the sixth consecutive shutout and ninth of the year for the North Carolina commit, who has now tossed 42 consecutive innings without allowing a run and 45 in a row without allowing an earned run.
Maddisyn Hall paced the offense going 3-for-4 with four runs batted in. Katy Granger was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI and Addie Wihoit went 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
Compton also cranked a three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth and struck out 14 more after passing the 800 mark for her career last week.
She’s recorded 132 punchouts in the last 11 starts with ten more in each of those outings and over the last dozen starts, the ERA has dipped to 0.20 with just two allowed earned runs.
