Reece Beaty has been a busy York Institute athlete. This past weekend she lit up the travel basketball circuit. She scored 33 points against Sports Academy Swish in a EYBL tournament game on Saturday. She scored 29 points against All Iowa Attack a day later.

That caught the attention of numerous colleges. Beaty, a 2025 point guard and former Clemson commit, was offered Penn State, Michigan, Iowa State, Wisconsin, Mississippi State, Missouri and Arkansas.

"It's been kind of crazy," Beaty said. "The first (offer) was Penn State. It was Sunday after the games got over. It was most of the day. It was kind of insane because I've never had that happen before, especially schools like that."

On Tuesday, she opened the Class A track and field state championships by winning the shot put with a throw of 38-feet-4 ¼. It was her third straight title in shot put. And her older sister Gabby Reese won the 2021 shot put title.
