The Tullahoma High School baseball team made the State Tournament bracket by winning both games in the double header with Loudon.

In the first game Tullahoma received a strong pitching performance form Evan Tomlin. He started on the mound and pitched six innings allowing just three hits and one run. Tomlin struck out 10 batters and only walked one. After giving up the run in the second, Tomlin had four straight three-up, three-down innings. Ben Quick pitched in the seventh, he struck out one and gave up one hit.
The offense was led by Mason Bratcher with two hits and two RBI. He hit a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth to give Tullahoma their first lead of the game. Trevor Cole had a two hit game as well. Andrew Fulmer, Jayron Morris, Baylan Tuten, Hunter Hogan and Phillip Lemmon each had a hit. Morris, Tuten, Tomlin and Colton Emory each had an RBI. Emory’s was on a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning. Tomlin was on a bases loaded walk prior to Emory’s sac fly in the fifth. The ‘Cats drew four walks. Morris took a pair, Tuten and Tomlin had the other two. Tullahoma put the ball in play, only striking out three times.

In the second game of the double header, Tullahoma played as the away team. They carried their momentum from the last five innings over and quickly jumped to a 4-0 lead after the top of the second.
Fulmer led the game off with a single, Morris singled right after moving Fulmer to third. While Tomlin was at the plate, Sam Bobo stole second as the courtesy runner for Morris. While Bobo stole second, Fulmer stole home on the throw to second. Tomlin then singled to the shortstop who made a throwing error, allowing Bobo to score. Hogan led off the second inning with a single, he advanced to third after a pickoff attempt went by the first baseman. Later in the inning with two out, Fulmer walked and then Morris reached on an error by the second baseman. Hogan scored on the play. Tuten singled to score Fulmer from third after the error. After that, the Wildcats only had four baserunners the rest of the game. Bratcher singled in the third, Cole singled in the fourth, Tuten and Morris walked in the seventh.
Tullahoma had seven hits, each by a different batter. They also took three walks. Fulmer, Morris and Tuten had a hit and a walk drawn each. Tomlin, Bratcher, Hogan and Cole had the other hits. Tuten had the only RBI for the team in game two.
The ‘Cats had another strong game pitching in game two, only allowing three hits. Tuten started the game and went 4.1 innings. He struck out six, walked five and allowed two hits. Bratcher finished the fifth inning for Tullahoma. He came in with the bases loaded got a ground out, walked a batter after a wild pitch scored the Redskins’ third run and then popped out the last batter he faced. Hogan took the bump for the last two innings. He struck out three batters, two in his three-up, three-down sixth inning. Hogan got the first two batters out in the seventh. He walked the next batter and after that Loudon hit a single, but Hogan induced a ground ball to Emory to end the game.
Tullahoma plays Gibbs in the first round of the State bracket today at 4 p.m. at Blackman in Murfreesboro. Â
