The Tullahoma High School men’s soccer team beat Giles County 4-2 to stay third in the district standings.
The Wildcats got two goals from Jayden Sarabia. Aiden Walker and Gunner Green scored the other two goals for the ‘Cats. Only one goal was assisted and that was by Asa Smith. Daniel Eldridge was in goal for Tullahoma and he recorded eight saves during the match.
Earlier in the week, Tullahoma hosted the LEAD Academy Panthers and tied 3-3. The ‘Cats went down early but fought back, scoring on a header from Jude Smith in the first half. They had a few other chances at the net, some just missed and others were saved by the keeper. Down two goals, the ‘Cats caught a break with the Panthers scoring a goal but having it taken away by a whistle. From the free kick Chase Dodson booted the ball to the other end of the field where Sarabia kicked it in to make it 3-2. Tullahoma had a chance with a free kick with about nine minutes left and the ball was deflected off of a defender and out of bounds, giving them a corner. Gage Allen served the ball into the box and Dodson found the back of the net to tie the match 3-3 with 8:03 left. The teams had a couple of chances but were unable to convert, ending the game in a tie.
The Wildcats went to Lawrence County on Monday and fell 5-2. Walker and Chase Banks scored the two goals. Sarabia picked up the only assist for the team.Â
Tullahoma host Wilson Central for Senior Night tonight, the match starts at 6 p.m.
