Rhodes suffers tough 12-3 loss at the hands of Berry College

Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Rhodes lacrosse team fell in a tough battle to Berry College, 12-3 on Saturday in Southern Athletic Association play.
 
The Lynx fall to a record of 6-6 on the year and 0-3 in league play while the Vikings advance to 7-2 and 2-1 in the SAA.
 
Rhodes fell behind early as the Vikings charged to a four goal lead by the end of the first period. The second quarter was much of the same as Berry scored another four unanswered goals to push ahead to an 8-0 lead.
 
The Lynx came out firing in the second half as Kevin Vieira scored back-to-back goals to give Rhodes its first two goals and pull within six at 8-2. The Vikings tacked on two more goals before the end of the third, extending their lead to 10-2. Rhodes' MG Jadick scored the final Lynx goal. Berry added two more making the final count 12-3.
 
Rhodes was outshot by its opponent by a margin of 36-23, and narrowly lost the face-off race by a count of 10-9. The Vikings also scooped up more ground balls by a tally of 27-22.
 
Braxton Carr was the Lynx net minder, where he was credited with all 60 minutes of play and grabbing 11 save.
 
The Lynx will look to bounce back on March 30 when they host Oglethorpe University at 1 p.m.
