Two Moc Soccer Signees Named To All-State Team

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga soccer signees Caroline Heavey and Molli Miller were selected to the Fall High School All-State Team. Players were selected with assistance from coaches and media members from around the country.

 

Heavey, a defender from Houston High School, is a four-year varsity letterwinner for the Mustangs. She is a two-time recipient of the Coach’s Award, was named defensive MVP and team MVP.

She was named to the Best of Preps, All-Metro Team, All-State Team, All-Star Team and is a Tennessee Sports Writers (TSWA) All-State selection.

 

The Mustangs claimed the 2013 DI-AAA state championship and reached the finals in 2014 while advancing to the semifinals in 2011 and 2012. She helped lead the Mustangs to four Region 8-AAA titles and four straight District 15-AAA crowns.

 

Miller, a keeper from Maryville High School, returned to her high school lineup following a season-ending injury in her junior year. She recorded 14 shutouts and allowed just 0.8 goals per game. She was named to the 2014 All-State Team as well as All-Region and All-District. Miller was named to the 2014 All Star team and the Knox Prep Extra First Team as well as a Tennessee ODP player.

 

The Mocs kick off the 2015 season on Sunday, August 23 against in-state foe Austin Peay at2:00 p.m. at Finley Stadium.
