Tennessee Baseball Kirby Connell Details Save Against Missouri

For the second-straight game, Tennessee had to hold on for the one-run victory over Missouri as Saturday’s 3-2 win in game three preserved the series sweep in Southeastern Conference play.  

The No. 3 Vols (37-7, 15-6 SEC) earned their fourth sweep of the season and their second in their past three homestands. Tennessee has now won six-straight series. Missouri (19-26, 6-15 SEC) managed just two runs off eight hits in the ballgame and dropped its seventh-straight series in league play.

Nate Snead (7-1) earned the victory on the mound after tossing 1.2 inning sof scoreless baseball in relief. Starter Carter Rustad (4-6) is the losing pitcher on the day after allowing two runs off six hits in five innings of work.

Tennessee hits the road to Gainesville to take on Florida next weekend in SEC play, but first, here’s how it all went down for the Vols on a Saturday in game three against Missouri.
