Whitwell junior Bennett McDougal scored all three touchdowns as the Tigers picked up an important 20-8 road win on Friday night at Sale Creek.

Whitwell came into the matchup ranked No. 6 in TSSAA Class 1A, and the Panthers were ranked 9th.

The Marion County Warriors rolled at home on Friday night as they defeated Sequatchie County 45-0.

The Warrior defense was outstanding as they held the Indians to only 41 yards in offense.

Big plays were a huge part of the game for Marion County as they either scored on long plays or set up touchdowns against Sequatchie County.

The Warriors had 438 total yards, 281 passing, and 152 on the ground as they improved to 5-0 on the season. The Indians fell to 3-2.

South Pittsburg scored early and often as they blew past Lookout Valley 74-0 on Friday night.

The Pirates held a commanding 60-0 lead at halftime and cruised in the second half with the mercy rule enforced.

South Pittsburg only had 24 offensive plays in the game. They finished with 313 total yards, with 199 coming on the ground and 214 in the air. The defense held the Yellowjackets to just 48 yards.

The number 1 ranked Tennessee Class 1A Pirates (5-0) travel to Stevenson, Alabama, on Friday to take on the North Jackson Chiefs. You can hear the game on The River 104.9.
