A strong pitching performance by Silverdale Baptist Academy senior Maddox Jones helped the Seahawks to a first round win over St. George’s by a 3-0 margin in Columbia, Tenn. Silverdale now advances to a quarterfinal berth against Columbia Academy, set for Wednesday, May 15 back at the Bulldogs’ home field.
Jones went seven innings in his shutout win, giving up five hits with six strikeouts and four base on balls.
Drake Dills and Cannon Rogers provided the Seahawks’ firepower at the plate with two hits each. Dills had two runs batted in.
Silverdale was sure-handed in the field, committing zero errors with Tanner Bayne handling eight opportunities behind the plate.
