2A east has been decent the last couple years. Marion, Tyner, ER, and Westmoreland have atleast been strong. After that it’s a huge fall off. I believe region 6 last couple of years in 2A had 4 very quality teams. I believe a drop to 5 classifications would be beneficial.
You got 5 wins. To have winning season you got to beat either Wm Blount, Kingston, GP, Carter or meigs. GP has Thursday TV game with AE that would be a sweet win for you turtle. Good luck
I'm from Cloudland and have twin daughters who start. We had a real good summer. I think we finished 16-5. We had a 1 point loss to Farragut, 4 point loss to Greenville, and an 8 point loss to Morristown east. From what I've seen and being completely unbiased, I think Unaka and Cloudland are very evenly matched. Shields being the obvious difference maker. Cloudland and Cosby play the same style and are the quicker teams. Unaka plays the half court and Shields will be responsible for 75 % of their offense. North Greene is the biggest team and also half court oriented. They will feed the post and beat you with suffocating defense. Region 1 will be exciting for local basketball fans. All 4 contenders bring a different style and Cloudland will play very fast and try to get quick buckets. We have a phenomenal player in makinna shell who might get her 1000th point for her junior year.
East 1A & 2A hasn't really been strong in years. Typically have 1 team that is head & shoulders better than everyone else. Larger classes in the east are where it gets stronger.
Middleton will be a handful. Their PG is really good and can go. They beat Memphis Business in the regular season last year. I seen them twice this spring and they will be good. Richland I hear beat South Gibson in Wayne County so they are obviously good. Jackson County dropped to 1A and they are in the TN Report's top 5. They had a good summer I hear. Coalfield lost their PG but they were impressive at state last year. Pickett lost their coach but always are good as well as Clarkrange. Be interesting for sure.
