Quarles leaving Maryville?

Jefferson County High School is like a sardine can and they have let the place get in such awful condition that the roof fell in on the vocational building due to lack of proper upkeep which would have killed a bunch of kids had it fallen during the school year. The place is a rat hole and I can't see leaving the penthouse for the outhouse.

I sort of feel sorry for the Jeff County fans when realism punches them in the jaw and George is coaching Maryville in 2016.

i would be surprised if anything like that ever happened simply because there are just some places and situations where throwing money at the problem just will not fix things. I have family that live there that were big supporters back in the eighties when Jefferson was a big force that have told me stories of how everything fell into the shape it's in now and that's why I never would believe GQ would consider a move back there because he knows first hand why.

I agree with you that he would never go to Jeff County now and will be at Maryville until at least all of his kids are out of the Maryville School System.

    • A review - Bearden had a rough tournament- they are better than what they played.  Bearden and Farmington were the perceived favorites but played each other for 5th place.  Knox Webb looked good and they are young.  No Seniors.  They defended Kate Harpring of Marist better than any other team - especially Webb’s Meeyah Green she played great defense - even though Marist still won. David Crockett looked very good and when Story is healthy they are very strong.  Cocke Co. beat them but Story didn’t play and neither did another Crockett starter. Those 2 teams could play again in a Sectional game. Greeneville doesn’t have a lot of players and limited talent but the Greeneville coach gets everything she can out of her players.  They are scrappy and play hard.  Same with North Greene.  They looked great at times and will always play hard.  Not sure what has happened at South Greene but they struggled and Chuckey Doal got a big win over SG. Upperman is always a joy to watch - very disciplined and fundamental.  They are always ready for the post season and Coach McWilliams does a great job. the Alabama team had a great player. -Ace Austin - who is going to Alabama to play.  She is very smart, plays good defense and shoots well.  Her size could be a problem for her. Marist - the Champion- is a joy to watch and will hopefully be back next year to attempt a 3peat.    This was the most competitive tournament in years and more big time teams are reaching out to the tournament directors wanting to play in it.
    • Congrats to the 3 players receiving all-state honors for the Mustangs
    • Will Pasley, a 6'2", 285-pound class of 2028 defensive lineman from Bradley Central, is transferring to Knoxville Grace. Will Pasley currently holds one offer from Arkansas, making him a great addition to Grace as they aim to build on another successful season.
