15 Memphis-area high school girls basketball players to watch during the 2019-20 season

Houston's Destinee Wells is one of the top players in the nation, according to ESPN.

The high school basketball season is underway. Here are 15 Memphis-area players to keep an eye on.

Se’Quoia Allmond, Whitehaven: The junior guard led Whitehaven to a region title game appearance last year and averaged a double-double with 16 points and 11 assists per game. 

Condelezza Black, East: The all-region selection averaged 16.4 points and 7.2 rebounds last season. 

En’Dya Buford, Olive Branch: The Memphis signee was last year's Commercial Appeal Girls Basketball Player of the Year and Gatorade Mississippi Player of the Year. She averaged 26.3 points, 8.4 assists and 7.3 rebounds and led Olive Branch to a state title. 

Taylor Clemons, Briarcrest: Clemons averaged 17.4 points, six rebounds and three assists last year.

Mallory Collier, Houston: The freshman post player is one of two Tennessee players listed in the 2023 ESPN rankings. She's averaging 12.4 points and 7.4 rebounds. 

Tierney Echols, MAHS: The all-district selection averaged 16.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, and four assists last season.   

Felia Fayne, Covington: The junior forward helped lead Covington to a state tournament appearance last year. She's averaging 14 points and 8.8 rebounds per game this season. 

Chara Ferguson, Melrose: The sophomore guard averaged 15.9 points, 3.7 steals and 5.2 rebounds last year.

Carmyn Harrison, Hutchison: The four-star post player is the country's No. 45 player in the Class of 2021, according to ESPN. 

Markesha Hayes, Mitchell: The junior guard is averaging 15.9 points and 2.6 steals per game. 

Sylvia Jones, Brighton: Last year's region 13-AAA MVP averaged 15.8 points. 

Christina Nichols, Arlington: Last year's Region 7-AAA Tournament MVP is averaging 15 points, nine rebounds, five steals and three assists per game this season.

Tramesha Rodgers, BTW: The senior guard is averaging 17.3 points per game this season. 

Brali Simmons, St. Agnes: The first-team DII-AA West selection is averaging 19 points this season. 

Destinee Wells, Houston: The Belmont signee is a four-star guard who is ranked No. 86 in the country, according to ESPN. She's averaging 16.6 points and 4.8 assists this season.
