The Franklin County High School boys and girls tennis teams competed in a home match Monday against Marshall County High School with the boys picking up a victory for the day.
The tennis Rebels won the boys portion of the match by a score of 4-3 with all of their wins coming in singles matchups.
Franklin County won four of the five boys singles matches with Rafa Silva claiming an 8-0 win, Krish Patel winning by an 8-2 margin, Pratham Patel picking up an 8-3 victory and Avi Patel topping his opponent by a score of 8-5.
William Orr lost his singles match on a tiebreaker by a score of 7-5 after playing to an initial 8-8 stalemate.
The Marshall County Tigers would win both of the boys doubles matches with the team of Pratham Patel and Orr taking a close 9-7 defeat while Silva and Avi Patel lost by a score of 8-4.
With the win, the Rebels improved to 3-9 on the season.
The Rebelettes would take an overall loss for the day to the Marshall County Tigerettes by a score of 6-1.
The lone victory for the Rebelettes came in doubles action as Jesse Burris and Leanna Hobbs teamed up to secure a 9-7 victory for the day.
The Tigerettes swept the team of Zoey Nice-Francis and Camryn Ragland by a score of 8-0 to win the other doubles contest for the match.
The Rebelettes also lost all five singles matches for the day with Burris, Ragland, Hobbs, Amelia Maxon and Nice-Francis losing by respective scores of 8-6, 8-4, 8-3, 8-1 and 8-0.
With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 3-9 on the season.
The FCHS boys and girls tennis teams will next compete Tuesday at Lawrence County High School. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
