GREENEVILLE — Austin Williams and the Volunteer baseball team kept their season alive Thursday night.
The Falcons fought off Grainger 4-2 at Pioneer Park in the District 2-3A tournament.
Despite being outhit 9-6, the Falcons got the performance they needed from Williams. He went the distance and scattered nine hits, allowing two earned runs and striking out two.
On offense, he hit 2-for-4 and drove in a pair of runs. Brycen Feagins singled twice for the Falcons, who trailed 1-0 until scoring three runs in the fourth.
Greeneville 4, Cherokee 2
GREENEVILLE — Carson Quillen’s RBI single in the fifth inning broke a 1-1 tie and put the Greene Devils up for good. Maddox Bishop went 2-for-3 with a triple, and Colton Richards doubled.
Will Harmon struck out six and allowed four hits in the win.
Cole Putnal went 2-for-2 for Cherokee, and Gage Adkins hit an RBI single.
District 1-2A Tournament South Greene 14, Happy Valley 6
GREENEVILLE — The Rebels never looked back after scoring eight runs in the second inning. Brendan Lisenby and Dustin Crum both went 3-for-4 with a double, combining to drive in five runs while scoring five more. Colby Brooks added two hits and two RBIs in addition to getting the win, tossing 4 1/3 innings with seven strikeouts.
Drew Blevins hit a two-run homer for the Warriors, and Tucker Shoun tripled in a pair of runs. Grady Goulds and Cade Kendall added two hits apiece.
West Greene 9, Chuckey-Doak 4
AFTON — Trailing 4-1 after two innings, West Greene scored five runs in the third and led the rest of the game. Mason McCamey doubled twice and scored twice, while Judson Higgins (2 runs) and Conner Campbell had two hits apiece. Braden McCamey and Maddox Garber drove in two runs each.
Braden McCamey struck out 11 in the eight-hit win.
Christian Derry went 3-for-4 for the Black Knights, with Lynkin Cutshaw and James Seidl adding two hits each.
District 1-3A Tournament Tennessee High 4, Unicoi County 2
BRISTOL, Tenn. — Gage Graziano (2-for-4) and Bryson Hutton (2-for-3) both batted in a run and scored one more for the Vikings. Kaleb Feathers got the win on the hill.
Abingdon 11, Ridgeview 1
ABINGDON — Daniel Fellhauer’s two-run double was the biggest blow in a 10-run fifth inning for the Falcons.
Aiden Woods tossed all five frames, allowing just a pair of hits.
Austin Rose had an RBI single for the Wolfpack.

EWING — Konnor Early collected four RBI in a two-hit (triple) game for the Generals.
Clay Robbins did not allow a hit in a five-inning, complete game. He also scored a pair of runs and drove in one.

North Greene 22, Cloudland 4
ROAN MOUNTAIN — The Lady Huskies exploded for 11 runs in the seventh to put Cloudland out of reach.
Hannah Brooks and Matti Phillips both left the yard as North Greene clubbed seven extra-base hits.
Sahara McKinney hit a two-run home run for the Lady Highlanders.
Unaka 12, West Greene 4
ELIZABETHTON — Mollie Buckles’ double highlighted a three-hit, two-RBI performance for the Lady Rangers.
Kimberly Profitt got the win in the circle after going the distance, striking out six and walking just one.
Hayley Arnold hit a pair of singles and drove in two runs for the Lady Buffaloes.
Abingdon 11, Ridgeview 1
ABINGDON — Lauren Baker pitched all six innings for the Lady Falcons, striking out six and not walking a batter. She also collected two hits and two RBIs.
Mariah Branscomb went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored, one of four Lady Falcon hitters with multiple hits.
