BIRMINGHAM – The No. 2 Danville Lady Hawks saw their season came to a close two matches earlier than they had hoped, falling 3-0 to No. 1 Bayside Academy, who has won 11 consecutive state championships in Class 2A and 3A.

The Lady Hawks competed well in each set of the match, but Bayside took the match 25-19, 25-18, 25-19.

Senior Kheala Roberts led the Lady Hawks with 11 kills in her final match followed by junior Sydni Shelton with 10 kills. Charlee Anderson added 21 assists while senior Andrea Carter had four blocks.

Fellow senior Sloan Lindsey added 15 kills and two aces while Kellee Stiles added 11 digs.
