Hartselle’s Aaron Davis took second place in the Class 5A State Meet at the Jesse Owens Memorial Park Saturday morning.

Davis nearly took top honors with his run of 16:16.02, which was just behind Homewood’s Andy Smith. As a team, Hartselle finished seventh overall.

Johnathan Duncan was 31st with 17:28. John Paulsen was 52nd with 17:57 followed by Chase Barrett with 17:59 in 55th place, Charlie Ord with 18:32, Timothy Ammons with 18:37, Liam Davis with 20:32, Matt Green with 20:47, Tyler Dolbeer with 22:11 and Darian Blum with 22:20.

Abigail Davis medaled finishing 14th overall with a time of 20:01. Other runners were Morgan Ward with 22:35, Reagan Bowling with 22:39, Taylor Barnett with 22:46, Brantley Owens with 22:32, Heather Tilley with 23:53, Ivy Buchanan with 24:19, Stephanie Roman with 24:44, Madison Williams with 25:16 and Mallory Faulkner with 25:49.

The girls team finished 10th overall.
