Danville uses big fourth quarter to beat Falkville

Danville’s boys basketball team picked up its second road win of the season with a 39-31 win over rival Falkville Friday night.

The Hawks defense led the way in the first quarter, outscoring the Blue Devils 9-2.

Falkville caught fire in the second quarter to take an 18-17 halftime lead.

The two teams played to a draw in the third quarter, leaving Falkville with a 27-26 lead.

Danville went on a 13-5 run over the entire fourth quarter to earn the win.

Brothers Alan and Andres Cordova led the Hawks with 15 and 12 respectively. Patrick Doherty added five points followed by Slater Robinson with four and Kyle Alexander with three.

Leading Falkville were Travis Cole with 11 and Canaan Smith with 10.
