The Alabama High School Athletic Association soccer coaches’ votes for Week 7 turned up only one change at the top of the 12 Top 10 rankings.
Indian Springs (11-2-2) moved into first place in the Class 5A boys poll, swapping places with No. 2 Guntersville (12-3-1). The two teams have traded places as No. 1 and No. 2 three times this season with Guntersville holding the top spot in the preseason through Week 3 before Indian Springs moved into No. 1 for Weeks 4 and 5. In Week 6, Guntersville was back on top and this week, the teams traded again.
In the girls Week 3 Super Poll – the ranking of the top 10 teams regardless of classification – Vestavia Hills repeated as the No. 1 team with a 12-1-2 record. The Rebels jumped from No. 5 to the top last week after beating previous No. 1 Oak Mountain. Auburn is second in the poll, jumping from fourth last week after winning a pair of games.
Unbeaten Oak Mountain is atop the boys Super Poll at 18-0. The defending Class 7A state champions beat No. 2 Hoover last week to hand the Bucs (13-1-1) their only loss of the season.
