High school football Week 8 honor roll

Each week during the season, the Times-Union will select five area players who turned in standout performances the previous week. Coaches can email nominations to preps@jacksonville.com by Monday evening.

Erick Hayward, Orange Park, RB: The senior carried 24 times for 274 yards and three touchdowns in Orange Park's 45-34 victory over Tallahassee Leon.

Garrett Henderson, Yulee, DE: The sophomore recorded 13 tackles, including two behind the line, in Yulee's 38-37 victory over West Nassau.

Joe Parete, Atlantic Coast, QB: The junior completed 16-of-25 passes for 222 yards and three touchdowns in a 47-23 victory over Lee.

Kendrick Singleton, Baker County, WR/DB: The senior caught eight passes for 190 yards and four touchdowns, while also recording nine tackles and intercepting a pass in Baker County's 61-0 victory over Parker.

John Wolford, Bishop Kenny, QB: The sophomore passed for 265 yards and five touchdowns, while running for 106 yards and three scores in Bishop Kenny's 56-35 victory over Clay.
