A pair of Wildcats made school history on the tennis courts on Monday as Luke Reagan and Ryan Tenison became the first Tullahoma High School boys’ tennis players to qualify for the TSSAA State Tournament.
Reagan and Tenison are the first THS players in 23 years to compete in the doubles competition at the state tournament. Kristin Luna and Diana Bratcher were the first Tullahoma tennis players to qualify for state when they took part in doubles in 2001.
“Luke and Ryan make a great doubles team and communicate well on the court,” said THS Tennis Coach Ashley Abraham. “As individuals, they are incredible players, but together, they are really hard to beat. Luke played on the Tullahoma Middle School team, and it has been amazing to watch his growth as a player and person. Ryan got a late start to the game, but once he started, he really picked up the game, and it has been fun watching him. Both of them are out on the courts to constantly improve and get better. I cannot wait to see how they do at state in Murfreesboro.”
Reagan and Tenison needed to notch a pair of victories over Cookeville teams in the Region Tournament in Fayetteville on Monday to qualify for state.
