Kenwood doesn’t allow bags

Henry County outside linebacker Caden Marshall (4) slips inside a group of Beech blockers to tackle Buccaneers’ runner Jp Courtney during the Patriots’ 26-21 loss on Friday at Patriot Stadium.

Henry County High School football fans planning to attend the Patriots’ game set for 7 tonight at Kenwood High School in Clarksville need to be aware of some new security protocols that have been implemented by the Clarksville school system.

Fans will not be allowed to bring any purses, fanny packs, backpacks, duffel bags, coolers, briefcases, diaper bags, cinch bags, luggage of any kind or computer bags. The prohibited items are not limited to this list and fans can be turned away by gate personnel if they attempt to enter with unapproved items.

The school system will allow each fan to carry in one clear tote bag made of plastic, vinyl or PVC. a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag is permitted per person. Clear bags cannot be tinted or have large graphics that obstruct visibility. All bags are subject to being searched.

Approved family care items, like diapers and formula, must be included in the clear plastic tote. The school system would prefer it if fans did not bring in any bags.

Adult supervision is required for middle-school age children and younger. The system prefers the students to be with a parent or guardian.

These changes were instituted after previous disturbances at high school games involving the Clarksville schools, including gunshots that occurred two weeks ago when Clarksville Northeast played at West Creek. No injuries were reported in that incident and police arrested several suspects believed to be responsible for the incident.
