2024 NHL draft lottery results: Which team won the No. 1 overall pick?

The 2024 NHL draft lottery took place Tuesday at the NHL Network studios in Secaucus, New Jersey, and as it turns out, the top three went according to the odds. with the San Jose Sharks winning the top prize.

The Sharks — who had the best odds to win the lottery at 18.5% — won it for the first time in franchise history. They will select first at the 2024 NHL Draft, which will be held June 28-29 in Las Vegas at the Sphere.

The Chicago Blackhawks had the second-best odds at 13.5% and drew the second pick, while the Anaheim Ducks had the third-best odds at 11.5% and drew the third pick.

The consensus opinion on who the top draft selection will be this year is Boston University's Macklin Celebrini. He scored 32 goals and 32 assists for the Terriers this past season.

Last year, the Chicago Blackhawks won the lottery and selected Connor Bedard at the draft, which was held in Nashville.

The Nashville Predators (47-30-5, 99 points) will have the 22nd selection in this year's draft. Last year, they had two first-round selections, taking Matthew Wood (15th overall) and Tanner Molendyk (24th overall).
