Memphis women's soccer's playoff run survived through regulation at Arkansas in the round of 16 Sunday. It survived two overtimes to reach penalty kicks.

It came down to the Tigers' final kick but Mya Jones, who tied the game late in regulation, had her shot saved by Grace Barbara. No. 3 Arkansas won 3-2 on penalty kicks to advance to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals.

It was a heartbreaking end to the deepest postseason run in program history. Memphis (11-6-5) twice overcame deficits in regulation against Arkansas but it wasn't enough to extend their season.

Jones, a sophomore, kept the Tigers alive with a game-tying goal in the 88th minute that made it 3-3. It came seven minutes after Arkansas' Zoe Susi to briefly put the Razorbacks ahead 3-2.

Memphis conceded its first goal of the NCAA Tournament after Arkansas' Jessica De Filippo scored twice on headers after free kicks by Emilee Hauser. But just like they did in the AAC Tournament, the Tigers found another way to rally.

Memphis scored two goals in three minutes before halftime to tie the match. Lilly Huber scored off a corner kick in the 41st minute then Jocelyn Alonzo scored in the 44th after Grace Stordy set her up with an assist following a run down the right side.

The Tigers had won five consecutive matches beginning with the AAC Tournament. They survived to win on penalty kicks against No. 1 seed Central Florida before a 1-0 win over SMU in the championship game.

Memphis then won two NCAA tournament games with a 1-0 win over No. 2 Saint Louis then a 4-0 win over No. 7 Mississippi State.

Arkansas advances to play No. 1 Florida State next.
