JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WCYB) — ETSU baseball team opened up their weekend series against VMI at Thomas Stadium with an 8-3 win over the Keydets.
The Bucs' overall record is now 28-15 and 10-6 in SoCon play.
Nick Iannantone had a great day with two hits and two walks, while Tommy Barth also contributed with two hits.
Carter Fink threw a solid game for ETSU, allowing just one unearned run on five hits with five strikeouts. Andrew Ronne followed Fink, striking out three and securing the win.
ETSU and VMI will resume the series on Saturday. With rain in the forecast later in the day in the Tri-Cities, the Bucs and Keydets have moved up the game time to 9 a.m.
