Fairview Middle School’s Cross Country Teams celebrate success at Sectionals.

Fairview Middle School’s Cross Country athletes recently celebrated sensational times at the sectionals.

The talented group of young Fairview runners made a super strong showing at the TMSAA Middle Tennessee Sectional Meet at Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro. But is was not the first time.

Last year, the FMS girls team finished as Sectional Runner-up and the Falcon boys were Sectional Champions. Both teams entered the competition looking to do equally well this season.

And once again, the Fairview girls raced to capture the Sectional Runner-up title, coming in second to last year’s State Champion Murfreesboro Central Magnet.

The young men of Fairview Middle also continued their dominant ways, defeating second place Murfreesboro Central Magnet by 65 points to earn back-to-back Sectional Champions.

“It is a great accomplishment for both of our teams to do so well in the sectionals in back-to-back years, but honestly, going into the race this year, the kids had an expectation to do exactly what they ended up doing,” said Coach Preston Brooks.

The top five schools from the sectional meet qualified to compete for a TMSAA State Championship. Coach Brooks added, “Our goal this entire season has been to earn State Championships. We are now in a position to make those goals a reality.”
