MURFREESBORO – Blackman's Tanner Owens finished in the top 10 in the TSSAA Class AAA state golf tournament for the second straight season.

Owens leads The DNJ's 2014 All-Area Golf Team. The three-year state qualifier was the District 7-AAA and Region 4-AAA champion.

He is joined on the boys first team by Smyrna's Josh Chalfant, Oakland's Austin Pfeifer, Riverdale's Cole Clear and Central Magnet's Jordan Reynolds.

Like Owens, Chalfant (Class AAA) and Reynolds (Class A/AA) also reached the TSSAA state tournament.

On the girls side, the first team is comprised of a trio of Class AAA state qualifiers in Blackman's Cailyn Johnston, Siegel's Melissa Kiker and Riverdale's Reagan Kinnie.

The DNJ's 2014 Golf Coach of the year is Stewarts Creek first-year coach Holly Bush. Bush led Stewarts Creek to its first boys golf state tournament appearance in the program's second season.
