KISL swimming and diving championships set for this weekend

The Knox-area Interscholastic Swim League swimming and diving championships are set for Friday and Saturday at University of Tennessee's Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.

Diving competition begins Friday at 6 p.m.  Swimming events are set for Saturday, with preliminary rounds starting at 9 a.m. and finals starting at 6 p.m.

Maverick 2,000: Oakdale senior Maverick Smith recently scored his 2,000th point and became the school's all-time points leader, surpassing Greg Porter on the list.

Blackmon To Visit Air Force: Maryville senior linebacker T.D. Blackmon will visit Air Force Academy this weekend, according to Rebels coach Derek Hunt. Blackmon, a three-time all-state selection, is expected to choose between the Falcons and Mercer before national signing day on Wednesday.

Doyle Offered: Farragut senior punter Joe Doyle picked up scholarship offers from Chattanooga and Austin Peay this week. The Under Armour All-American is the top uncommitted punting prospect in the country for the 2017 class, according to ESPN.
