Prep Roundup: HCA seasons end

Hendersonville Christian Academy’s basketball teams saw their seasons end Thursday in the first round of the Division II-Class A District 1 Tournament.

The Crusaders suffered a 61-38 loss at Friendship Christian to end their season with a 7-15 record. Peyton Shoulders scored 15 points and hit four 3-pointers to lead HCA, with Jalen Cole adding 14.

Friendship Christian led 16-3 after one quarter, 32-18 at halftime and 51-27 entering the fourth quarter.

Cole was named to the all-district first team after averaging 14 points, three rebounds and 2.1 assists per game this season.

Hawks fall at Clarksville Academy

Merrol Hyde Magnet’s boys basketball team suffered a 72-60 loss to visiting Clarksville Academy on Thursday.

Connor Dunn led the Hawks (4-18) with 19 points, while Connor McCutcheon added 13 and Jacob Richardson finished with 12.
