In the fourth inning, the Eagles had a hard time throwing a strike. Five Wildcat batters were walked and one other was hit by a pitch. RBIs were credited to Mashburn, Brandon Bishop, and Levi Presley on bases loaded walks. Briley Duggan drove in one run with a sacrifice fly. The Eagles were able to score one run in the bottom of the fifth. The final score was Sweetwater-8, Maryville Christian-1. Keegan Knox claimed the victory on the mound.
Game 2 was the opposite of the first game. The Eagles took the lead in the first inning with two sacrifice flies. Sweetwater’s only run came in the second inning when P. White scored on a single by Turpeinen. The Eagles answered with five runs in the bottom of the second. Another run for the Eagles in the bottom of the fourth inning would lead to the final score of Maryville Christian-8, Sweetwater-1. The losing pitcher was Presley.
The conclusion of the regular season for the Wildcats was Tuesday night. The Tellico Bears were Sweetwater’s opponent for Senior Night. District tournament play starts Thursday.
