Howard, CSAS, Signal Mountain Advance To Region Soccer Finals

Neyder Gonzalez-Galvez scored three goals Tuesday night giving the Howard boys soccer team a Class AA region semifinal win over visiting McMinn Central.  Signal Mountain hosted Cascade and won 5-0 in a Class A semifinal and CSAS traveled to Fayetteville and won 1-0 in overtime. 

Howard won 4-1 after leading 2-1 at the half.   Sergio Marcos-Esquivel had Howard's fourth goal. 

Howard won their second straight district championship last year and will advance to the region final for the first time in school history. 

Howard will host Sequoyah on Thursday for  the Class AA region championship. 

Signal Mountain will play CSAS at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Boyd Buchanan for the Class A region championship. 

East Ridge lost their region semifinal 2-1 at Sequoyah. 

Winners of region finals will host a sectional game on Saturday and the losers will have to travel.  Only sectional winners will advance to the state soccer tournament in Murfreesboro next week.
