All three Cheatham County football teams suffered losses in Week 4.

Harpeth lost to Creek Wood, 42-21. Cheatham County had a 31-6 loss to Montgomery Central. Sycamore gave up 59 points in a loss to Davidson Academy.

Here are three takeaways from Week 4.

Harpeth remains winless

After a Week 4 loss to Creek Wood, Harpeth is still winless. On Friday, the Indians lost 42-21 to the Red Hawks. But, if there's any good that came from Friday's loss, it's that Harpeth had their largest point total this season.

"I think we got a little bit better," Harpeth coach Doug Loope said. "We still got a ways to go. We're young, and they're learning. They're still having fun, but it's frustrating for them."

Harpeth has an opportunity to capture its first win of the season next week against Cheatham County. Last season, the Indians were failed to score against the Cubs, 52-0.

Cheatham County on 3-game losing streak

Cheatham County went into Friday's game with hope, but Montgomery Central came out on top as the Cubs have now lost their third consecutive game.

Montgomery Central scored 21 points in the second quarter, and the remaining 10 points in the third quarter. Cheatham County coach Eric Hatley credited the Indians for their experience.

"Montgomery Central is a pretty stinking good football team," Hatley said. "Of course we knew they would be coming in. They have 17 seniors back this year and most starters from last year."

From the Cheatham end, senior running back Walker Bunce scored its only touchdown. He finished with 61 yards on eight carries. However, Hatley hasn't been pleased with how his team's been protecting the ball.

"We can't seem to get out of our own way," Hatley said. "Giving the ball to the other team is a sure way to lose. We had too many turnovers. We also had some bad snap exchanges that put us behind the chains."

Cheatham County will look to get back on track next week in a region game against Harpeth.

Sycamore struggles against Davidson Academy

Sycamore's Week 4 ended with 59-6 loss to Davidson Academy. Junior running back Tyler Niebel scored the only touchdown for the War Eagles.

"We thought we had a game plan where we could compete with them and they just had the matchups," Sycamore coach Justin Robinson said. "I think our kids played hard and there was no quit in them, but at the end of the day we didn't have the firepower they have."

Next week, Sycamore has a home game against Stewart County.
