Davidson Academy needed every bit of its one-two punch of Stone Norton and Da'Joun Hewitt on Friday night to remain undefeated.

The quarterback, running back duo combined for eight touchdowns in a 62-55 win over Waverly.

Norton, a Florida International commitment, was 17 of 28 passing for 226 yards and five touchdowns. Hewitt, a Purdue commitment, had 170 rushing yards and three TDs on 28 carries.

"Stone has really matured to being an elite quarterback," Davidson Academy coach Jonathan Quinn said.

Quinn said teams are loading the box to slow down Hewitt, which is enabling the Bears to throw it more.

Montez Bradley had 232 rushing yards and five TDs to lead Waverly.
