Week 7: Nashville area high school football game ball recipients

Tom Kreager's game balls

Rondarius Gregory, East Nashville. Gregory rushed for 196 yards and scored three touchdowns to help lead the Eagles to a 58-27 win over Giles County. The win improved East Nashville to 7-0, 3-0 in Region 5-3A.

Dylan Knight, Moore County. Knight rushed 15 times for 258 yards and scored six touchdowns in a 67-21 rout of Grace Christian. Moore County had 526 rushing yards as a team.

Gavin Stanfield, Waverly. Stanfield, the 2017 Class 2A Mr. Football was 16 of 22 passing for 296 yards and four touchdowns in a 48-27 win over Riverside. He also rushed for 90 yards and a TD.

Cecil Joyce's game balls

Ethan Cobb, Eagleville. Cobb completed 9 of 12 passes for 139 yards and a touchdown and rushed 14 times for 109 yards and four scores in a 49-20 win over Richland.

Drew Smith, Riverdale. Smith had his third 200-yard game of the season and second in a row, rambling for 220 yards and three TDs, including the game-winner in double-overtime in a 40-34 win over Cookeville.

Adonis Otey, Blackman. Otey, an Arkansas commitment, got it done in different ways for the Blaze in a 42-3 rout over Warren County. He had 80 yards rushing and a TD, added a 24-yard touchdown reception and returned a punt 66 yards for a TD.

Fred Orr, Northeast. Orr’s 80-yard burst with 1:06 left in the third quarter answered Clarksville High’s score moments earlier. Orr finished the game with 185 yards and two touchdowns for the Eagles in a 33-21 win.

Ford Cooper/Devyn Bender, Clarksville High. Both deserve a game ball after Friday’s game, despite the loss to Northeast. Cooper and Bender hooked up for all three of CHS’ touchdowns on 27, 41 and 10 yards Friday night.

Tyrique Freeman, Northeast. If it wasn’t Orr, it was Freeman chewing up yards and Clarksville’s defense to the tune of 134 yards on 20 carries Friday night.
