GAME OF THE WEEK

Briarcrest (5-2, 0-1 DII-AAA) at Memphis University School (6-0, 1-0)

When: Friday, 7 p.m.

With 222 and 221 points scored, respectively, MUS and Briarcrest have been scoring at a similar pace. This game will feature two of the area's top offensive prospects in MUS WR Maurice Hampton and Briarcrest OL Omari Thomas. Four of Briarcrest's games have been decided by 10 points or less. Nashville's Montgomery Bell Academy is the only team to come within 10 points of MUS. This game will be MUS' biggest test since then.

Christian Brothers (6-1, 1-0 DII-AAA) at St. Benedict (6-1, 0-1)

When: Friday, 7 p.m.

Christian Brothers takes its five-game winning streak to St. Benedict. Christian Brothers had a bye week last week while St. Benedict crushed Westwood 44-6. Neither team has given up 100 points yet this season, so fans might see a low-scoring game.

West Point (6-1) at Olive Branch (7-0)

When: Friday, 7 p.m.

Olive Branch hosts a tough West Point team, just one week after escaping from Grenada with a 13-7 win. Josh Stevenson caught 11 passes for 175 yards and a touchdown, while Gary Banks scored the other touchdown on the ground. The Conquistadors will look to extend their winning streak against a West Point team that hasn't lost since Aug. 31.

Fayette Academy (6-1, 3-1 DII-A) at Tipton-Rosemark (4-3, 2-2)

When: Friday, 7 p.m.

Putting up 56 points and losing is not common, but it's what happened to Fayette Academy last week when Davidson Academy won 62-56 in Somerville. Reid Holland and Rube Scott Rhea combined for 342 yards and six touchdowns on the ground for the Vikings. Tipton-Rosemark lost to Clarksville Academy by a touchdown in its last outing. Mac Fullen rushed for 217 yards and four scores for the Rebels. Stopping the run appears to be the key to victory in this one.

St. George's (3-4) at Collierville (3-4)

When: Friday, 7 p.m.

St. George's heads to Collierville to play the second game ever at Dragon Field at Landers SportsPlex. Last week the Gryphons lost 28-7 to University School of Jackson while Collierville was on a bye week. Collierville lost 37-20 to Central on Sept. 28. Mitch Austin completed 13 of 23 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns in the loss for the Dragons. Justin Stonework accounted for 103 of those yards and a touchdown on three catches.

Trezevant (4-4, 2-1 8-3A) at Melrose (3-4, 2-1)

When: Friday, 7 p.m.

Trezevant snapped a two-game losing streak Thursday night against Sheffield. Melrose hasn't scored since it beat Sheffield back on Sept. 13. The winner improves its 8-3A record to 3-1, tying with Raleigh-Egypt, which is off this week.

Lausanne (6-0, 3-0 DII-AA) at Northpoint Christian (0-7, 0-4)

When: Friday, 7 p.m.

Lausanne is back in action after a bye week. The Lynx's last game was a 42-34 victory at ECS. Cameron Sims picked off two passes and Eric Gray rushed for 192 yards and three touchdowns. Northpoint Christian was shut out by University School of Jackson last week.

South Gibson is coming off a 21-13 loss to McNairy Central.

Westwood (2-5, 1-3 8-1A) at KIPP (2-5, 1-3)

When: Friday, 7 p.m.

The winner will snap a five-game losing streak. Three of Westwood's last five games have been decided by only two points, but last week's loss to St. Benedict was 44-6. KIPP has only scored eight points since August.
