7 Nashville area high school football teams undefeated; Whites Creek in playoffs for first time since 2009
The regular season ended on a wet night around the Nashville area on Friday night.
Now comes the postseason.
Here are five takeaways from Week 11:
Cane Ridge, Mt. Juliet among locals undefeated
Cane Ridge and Mt. Juliet cannot play each other until the Class 6A state championship game due to the playoff brackets. But if the two programs meet in Cookeville, it would make for an all-Nashville area final between two undefeated teams.
Cane Ridge and Mt. Juliet were the lone Nashville area Class 6A programs to complete 10-0 regular seasons. Cane Ridge beat Rhea County 35-20. Mt. Juliet beat Hendersonville 28-13.
Cane Ridge and Mt. Juliet are two of seven undefeated programs from the area.
Cornersville (1A), Watertown (2A), Upperman (3A) Davidson Academy (Division II-A) and CPA (DII-AA) also wrapped up perfect regular seasons.

Whites Creek back in playoffs at 2-8
Pearl-Cohn completed a perfect Region 5-3A season with a 63-0 rout of Whites Creek. Despite the rout and a 2-8 record, Whites Creek will return to the playoffs for the first time since 2009.
The Cobras were the chief benefactor from Giles County forfeiting five wins for playing an ineligible player. Whites Creek was outscored 148-7 in four region games. Only six of those points came on the field. The Cobras had a 1-0 win over Giles County due to forfeit.
Whites Creek reached the Class 4A state semifinals in 2009. Since then, Whites Creek has combined to win 15 games.
MBA holds off Baylor for 9-1 season
MBA will enter the Division II-AAA playoffs riding a six-game win streak.
It took a strong defensive effort from the Big Red to keep that in place. MBA beat Baylor 7-0 behind Sam Dugan's touchdown run. Dugan finished with 96 yards on 23 carries in the win. The Big Red receives a DII-AAA first round bye before playing the St. Benedict-Briarcrest Christian winner on Nov. 9.
Springfield ready for another playoff run
Springfield was a surprise state championship game participant a year ago when the Yellow Jackets reached the Class 4A title game.
The Yellow Jackets won't surprise anyone this year. Springfield (8-2) defeated Creek Wood 44-18 for its seventh win in its past eight games. Both of Springfield's losses have come to Class 5A programs in Beech and Clarksville.
Springfield's strength has been its passing game. Quarterback Bryan Hayes has thrown for 1,746 yards with 1,111 of that coming to Dayron Johnson. Springfield, which hosts Chester County (2-7) on Friday, could potentially host Jackson South Side (9-1) in the second round. That would be a rematch of a 2017 quarterfinal, which Springfield won 23-22.
Patriots cruises in final postseason tune up
Is there a better area team than Oakland? We'll find out in the upcoming weeks.
Oakland cruised to a 56-7 win over Warren County on Thursday behind Xavier Myers' 122 rushing yards. Oakland has outscored its opponents 471-93. The Patriots have reached the state semifinals in each of coach Kevin Creasy's first four seasons and finished Class 6A runner-up to Whitehaven in 2016.
