Top Robertson County high school football games for the first round of the playoffs

Three Robertson County high school football programs clinched TSSAA playoff berths this season. Of the three, Springfield was the lone region champion. The Yellow Jackets won the Region 5-4A title.

Chester County (2-7) at Springfield (8-2)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

The duo of quarterback Bryan Hayes and receiver Dayron Johnson have led the Yellow Jackets' offense all season. Hayes is 86 of 155 passing this season for 1,746 yards with 22 touchdowns and six interceptions. Johnson has 42 catches for 1,111 yards this season with 14 touchdowns. Hayes also has rushed for 641 yards. Those numbers should only increase against a Chester County that is giving up 28.8 points this season.

Lookout Valley (5-4) at Jo Byrns (6-4)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Eric Herring rushed for 142 yards and three touchdowns on just 11 carries in the Red Devils' regular season finale. Herring surpassed 1,049 yards for the season despite missing multiple games due to a broken arm. Herring was key in Jo Byrns' second-place finish in Region 4-1A. He has 16 touchdowns scored this season.

East Robertson (5-5) at Tyner (9-1)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Cameron Swift leads the Indians' offense into the Class 2A postseason. Swift has thrown for 1,145 yards with 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He has also rushed for a team-high 699 yards with 13 rushing touchdowns. Swift's top target Taylor Groves leads the team with 724 receiving yards.
