GAME OF THE WEEK

ECS (9-2) at Lausanne (10-0)

When: Friday, 7 p.m.

Lausanne hosts ECS in a DII-AA matchup. These two teams played on Sept. 28, and Lausanne won 42-34. Since then, ECS has won five games in a row, including Friday night's win over Lipscomb Academy. Lausanne beat Goodpasture to increase its winning streak to 37 games in a row. ECS quarterback Joseph Welch is having a strong season after coming back from two ACL surgeries. Lausanne's Eric Gray broke the state career touchdown record last week.

Winner plays: CPA/St. George's

Whitehaven (8-3) at Houston (10-1)

When: Friday, 7 p.m.

This has the potential to be a tremendous 6A game. Whitehaven has a pair of SEC commitments in Keveon Mullins (South Carolina) and Devin Boddie (Vanderbilt). Tight end Cormontae Hamilton is committed to Ohio State. Houston lineman Kip Frankland recently committed to Navy, and running back Lincoln Pare has been putting up big-time numbers.

Winner plays: Germantown/Central

Central (8-2) at Germantown (11-0)

When: Friday, 7 p.m.

Germantown beat Central 28-7 on Oct. 19 in an 8-6A  game. That was the lowest-scoring game of the season for Germantown. The big question is: Will the Warrior offense be able to put up points? Central squeaked by Cordova 21-20 last week behind two touchdowns and a key 2-point conversion from Dylan Ingram. If Central can muster a similar offensive effort against the Red Devils, the game may end up being interesting.

Winner plays: Whitehaven/Houston

Middle Tennessee Christian School (9-2) at Fayette Academy (9-1)

When: Friday, 7 p.m.

Fayette Academy has a DII-A semifinal appearance on the line. The Vikings are coming off of a bye-week. MTCS beat Jackson Christian 54-42 in the first round. If that score is any indication, this week's game may involve lots of points. Fayette Academy hasn't scored fewer than 27 this season.

Winner plays: Friendship Christian/Clarksville Academy

Southwind (7-4) at Kirby (10-1)

When: Friday, 7 p.m.

This is a rematch of the top two 8-5A teams. Kirby handled Southwind 39-14 on Oct. 5. Since then, Kristian Williams and the Jaguars have won two out of three, including last week's overtime win at Clarksville. The Kirby offense, led by Louisville commitment Jaden Johnson at quarterback, is the region's best.

Winner plays: Henry County/Ridgeway

Ridgeway (7-4) at Henry Co. (10-1)

When: Friday, 7 p.m.

Ridgeway rolled to a 41-13 first-round 5A victory over Dyer County powered by 448 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns from quarterback Quincy Casey. This week is a bigger challenge at Henry County, which has only lost to Germantown.

Winner plays: Southwind/Kirby

Greenfield (8-3) at Freedom Prep (8-3)

When: Friday, 7 p.m.

Freedom Prep demolished South Fulton 67-14 in its first-round 1A game. Greenfield beat MASE 42-6. Freedom Prep beat MASE 46-12 on Oct. 18. Freedom Prep quarterback Tevin Carter is a freshman who holds offers from Memphis, LSU and Michigan.

Winner plays: West Carroll/Lake Co.

Brentwood Academy (8-2) at Christian Brothers (8-2)

When: Friday, 7 p.m.

Three-time defending state champion Brentwood Academy visits Christian Brothers. Both teams are coming off first-round byes in DII-AAA. The running game has been a strong point for the Purple Wave. Will Ruth and Al Wooten have had strong seasons, and so has Memphis commitment Jacob Likes on the offensive line. The defensive line features two SEC commitments in Bill Norton (Georgia) and Christian James (Vanderbilt).

Winner plays: Briarcrest/MBA

Pope John Paul II (6-5) at MUS (9-0)

When: Friday, 7 p.m.

MUS is coming off of a bye week in the first round of the DII-AAA playoffs. MUS' Maurice Hampton (LSU commitment) is the one of the state's top prospects. Dorian Hopkins (Tulsa) is also a DI commitment. Marcus Henderson is one of the highest-ranked prospects in the state's 2020 class.

Winner plays: Ensworth/McCallie

Union City (6-5) at Fairley (9-2)

When, Friday 7 p.m:

Fairley running back Terry Wilkins is a 2A Mr. Football semifinalist as a junior. The Bulldogs beat South Gibson 36-6 in the first round. Fairley hasn't lost since Sept. 21 at Memphis Central, scoring 48 or more in four of its last five games.

Winner plays: Peabody/Trinity Christian
