Kirby quarterback Jaden Johnson has decommitted from Louisville.

He made the announcement on Twitter on Monday night.

"I've been thinking about the position I'm in and I've been praying about the situation the whole time, but I will be decommitting from the University of Louisville and opening back up my recruitment," Johnson wrote in the tweet.

The move comes less than a month after the Nov. 11 firing of coach Bobby Petrino.

Johnson had been committed to the Cardinals since November 2017.

Johnson is the No. 18 prospect in Tennessee, No. 20 pro-style quarterback and No. 513 overall according to the 247Sports composite. He is listed as a four-star recruit in ESPN's rankings, and a three star recruit according to 247Sports and Rivals.

Johnson is scheduled to visit Indiana this weekend and already has visited Southern Miss, according to Rivals.
