All members of the Tennessean All-Midstate volleyball first team are nominees for the volleyball player of the year. The winner will be announced on May 31 at the fourth annual Tennessean Sports Awards presented by Farm Bureau Health Plans.

Why chosen: The Furman signee had 620 digs with 50 aces and 51 assists to help lead the Lady Bruins to the Class AAA championship.

Why chosen: The Missouri State beach volleyball signee had 701 kills with 410 digs and 67 aces to help lead the Lady Panthers to a second straight Class AA championship.
