Elizabethton Sweeps at Sullivan East

BLUFF CITY, Tenn. -- League-leading Elizabethton rolled to an impressive 84-58 victory over Sullivan East in the Dyer Dome Tuesday night.
The victory completed a Three Rivers Conference sweep on the night after the Lady Cyclones held off a late Lady Patriots rally for a 52-50 win in the opener.
Elizabethton had opened a 47-38 lead over the Lady Patriots in the fourth quarter, but East battled back to cut the lead to 51-50 with 3.5 seconds remaining.
Morgan Headrick sank 1-of-2 free throws for the Lady Cyclones (5-14, 3-5) and a desperation heave at the buzzer came up short for East (12-13, 3-4).
In the boys’ contest, after falling behind by three, 13-10, after one quarter, the Cyclones outpointed the host Patriots 74-45 the rest of the way.
Elizabethton (15-4, 7-1) placed four players in double figures and nearly a fifth on the night. Parker Hughes led the way with 18 while Eric Wilson finished with 15 points. Evan Perkins and Nico Ashley tossed in 13 points apiece and Bryson Rollins contributed eight.
Dayne Davis was tops for East (14-12, 2-5) with 14 points. Dylan Bartley came off the bench to score ten.
