Adamsville and Scotts Hill have been added to the list of Tennessee high school boys basketball programs that have been banned from the playoffs as a result of fighting.

Both West Tennessee schools were placed on restrictive probation for the next two years and will be ineligible for the playoffs for this year and next.

The two programs were involved in a brawl earlier this week at Adamsville.

Adamsville and Scotts Hill have been removed from the District 14-AA tournament, which begins Thursday. Riverside moved up from the No. 8 seed to the No. 6 seed.

Scotts Hill was fined $3,250 and Adamsville was fined $2,250, according to the letters sent to the schools. Adamsville had placed itself on restrictive probation for this year, which led to the difference in fines.

The fight happened when the two teams were lining up to shake hands after a buzzer-beater by Scotts Hill won the game. Spectators also came down onto the court and were involved.

According to the incident report from the referees, an Adamsville player took the first swing. The report states that players started running toward one another after that swing, while coaches, fans, staff and parents were trying to separate them.

An Adamsville player was also taken to the hospital in Savannah after having what the referees said looked like a seizure.

The incident came 11 days after three brawls happened during basketball games in Memphis, which included four boys basketball teams being suspended from postseason play for two years. Wooddale's postseason ban was reversed on Friday by the TSSAA.

Fairley, Melrose and Westwood all remain suspended from the postseason the next two years.
