Region tournament roundup: Fourth-seed Ravenwood to play Dickson County in 6-AAA final

KK Curtis' inside bucket with 10 seconds left gave Dickson County a 63-62 overtime win over Page in the Region 6-AAA semifinals at Brentwood.

The win came after Page senior Faith Wilken buried a 3-pointer at the end of regulation to force overtime.

Olivia Rhinehart had a game-high 28 points to pace Dickson County (27-5). Curtis and Raegan Purvine added 10 and 11 respectively for the Lady Cougars, who face Ravenwood at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Region 6-AAA championship.

Wilken led the Lady Patriots (29-5) with 22 points. Lili Wilken added 13 and McKenzie Cochran had 11.

Ravenwood 43, Brentwood 41: UAB commitment Jazmyn Harmon went over 1,000 points for her career and scored a game-high 22 points with nine rebounds in the Region 6-AAA semifinal. Teammate Taya Lee added eight points and six rebounds.

It marked the Lady Raptors' third win of the season over Brentwood. Ravenwood, which reached the Class AAA state tournament for the first time in school history in 2018, advanced to the region championship as the District 11-AAA fourth-place team for the second straight year.

Chloe Wampler led Brentwood with 16 points and Amelia Osgood had 15. Ravenwood held Brentwood twin sisters Emily Trushel and Delaney Trushel scoreless in the game.

Mt. Juliet 62, Beech 53: After getting swept by Beech in the District 9-AAA regular season, Mt Juliet got its revenge, ending the Lady Bucs’ season in the Region 5-AAA semifinal Monday night at Gallatin. 

Mt. Juliet (26-5) controlled the game in the paint, scoring 26 points in the post and broke Beech’s fullcourt press with run outs for another 10 points.

Mt. Juliet plays Wilson Central at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the region championship.

Mt. Juliet led by as many as 18 before Beech (27-6) got it within eight with 2:36 left.

Emma Palmer had 20 points and Tondri Davis added 16 in the win. Beech was led by Kendra Mueller’s 15 points.

Lebanon 64, Wilson Central 48: Lebanon advanced to the Region 5-AAA championship on the strength of 20 free throw attempts in the second half that helped it pull away from its District 9-AAA rival Monday in the semifinal game. Lebanon (23-10) hit 14 of those foul shots in the second half and was 16 of 24 for the game at the stripe. 

Christaney Brookshire led Lebanon with 17 points while Allissa Mulaski added 14 in the win. Wilson Central (17-13) was led by Sydnee Richetto who had 18 in the loss. Nicole Brill has 14.

Oakland 46, Tullahoma 45: The District 7-AAA fourth-seeded Lady Patriots rallied in the fourth quarter to edge District 8-AAA champion Tullahoma.

The Lady Patriots (20-9) received 16 points from Nicole Egeruoh, 14 from Faith Adams and eight from Sydney Blankenship.

Tullahoma (15-14) was led by Julia Duncan with 14 points, Kailyn Farrell with 11 and Macey Bowman with 10.

Blackman 60, Lincoln Co. 41: Nia Vanzant scored a team-high 14 points and the Lady Blaze (22-6) went on a second-half run to pull away and reach the semis.

Blackman led by just seven at halftime, but built the advantage to 21 by the end of the third.

Lady Blaze senior Jaida Bond surpassed the 1,000-point mark for her career during the win and finished with 12 points for Blackman. Joelle Patton also scored 12 for the Lady Blaze.

Annalise Malone led Lincoln County (15-11) with 10 points.

Coffee Co. 59, Stewarts Creek 55: Abby Morgan scored a game-high 26 points, including six in overtime to lead Coffee County (28-4) to the Region 4-AAA quarterfinal win.

Sophomore Zhordan Shannon scored nine of her team-high 21 points in the fourth quarter to help the Lady Red Hawks (21-11) overcome a 14-point second-half deficit and actually take a lead late in regulation.

Riverdale 71, Franklin Co. 37: Top-ranked Riverdale had no issues with the visitors, leading 50-15 halftime advantage in their Region 4-AAA quarterfinal.

Riverdale (27-1) had all five of its starters score double figures. That included Alasia Hayes (15), Katelyn Worley (14), Acacia Hayes (13) and Aislynn Hayes (13) and Jalyn Holcomb (10).

Eagleville 53, Cascade 42: The Lady Eagles earned their first sectional berth since 1995 and reached the region finals, where they will battle Moore County at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Eagleville led 22-20 at halftime and built on the lead in the second half.

Makayla Moates scored 17 points for Eagleville while Lizzy Thompson added 15.

Clarkrange 61, Pickett Co. 39: Kaylie Monday scored 19 points in the Region 3-A win. Kassie Monday added 18 points.

Kyndal Ludick led Pickett County with 13.

Boys

Central Magnet 58, Fairview 44: Steph Laird and Will Carver had huge games in pulling off the upset over Fairview (28-3).

Laird scored in 28 points for Central Magnet, which will battle Marshall County in Wednesday's semifinal at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at East Hickman High.

Carver tossed in 15 points.

Marshall Co. 78, Lewis Co. 75: Lipscomb signee KJ Johnson scored 41 points to pace the Tigers past Lewis County. Johnson's three-point play with four seconds gave Marshall county the win.
