Host Baylor Wins Soccer Tournament Opener Over CCS

The Baylor boys soccer team hosted CCS in the first game of the Baylor Tournament on Friday.  Baylor scored two first half goals to earn 2-0 win and advance to the semifinals on Saturday.

 

Baylor's David Danquah scored off a long shot and Christian Stophel scored off a penalty kick.

 

Baylor had seven shots and CCS had one.  Baylor keeper Charlie Hooks at one save and CCS keeper Eli Honeycutt had five. 

 

Baylor improves to 2-1 on the season and CCS is now 1-1.

 

Baylor plays Signal Mountain on Saturday at noon in the semifinals.  The Championship is set for 6 p.m. 


Other teams that posted wins in the tournament were Signal Mountain, Oak Ridge and Bob Johns. 

CCS will play Guntersville Saturday at 10.
