Tennessean Midstate Top 10 high school boys basketball rankings

Here is the final Nashville-area high school boys basketball poll of the 2018-19 season, as ranked by the USA TODAY Network — Tennessee. 

1. Brentwood Academy (25-7) – The Eagles are primed for another deep playoff run in 2020 with just two players from this year’s Division II-AA runner-up team graduating. Last week: No. 2.

2. Franklin (28-7) – The graduation of leading scorer Reese Glover and post player Ahsharri Haynesworth leaves big holes to fill next year. Last week: No. 1.

3. Brentwood (27-9) – The Bruins gave eventual state runner-up Memphis East and Memphis signee James Wiseman all they could handle before falling 46-42 in the Class AAA semifinals. Last week: No. 4.

4. Oakland (25-6) – The Patriots’ hopes of reaching their first Class AAA state semifinal since 2007 came up short as they fell to Brentwood 50-47 in overtime. Last week: No. 3.

5. East Nashville (27-7) – East Nashville’s first trip to the Class AA state tournament since 2014 ended with a loss to Fulton in the semifinals. Last week: No. 6.

6. Columbia Academy (31-5) – Carson Cary, the Class A state tournament MVP, led the Bulldogs to their first state championship in their final year competing in Division I. Last week: No. 8.

7. Pearl-Cohn (20-11) – The Firebirds went from last place in District 10-AA a year ago to a trip to the Class AA state tournament this season. Last week: No. 5.

8. Eagleville (29-4) – The Eagles came up one game shy of reaching their first Class A state championship game, falling to eventual state champion Columbia Academy in the semifinals. Last week: No. 10.

9. Blackman (20-12) – The Blaze enter next season with the task of trying to reach a ninth straight Class AAA sectional game. Last week: No. 7.

10. Station Camp (25-9) – The Bison return enough next season to be in line to reach a second straight Class AAA sectional game. Last week: No. 9.
