CSCC Volleyball Signs 7 Lady Cougars, 6 Local, As Part Of 10 To Join Program This Fall

Seven of the ten incoming freshman for Cleveland State volleyball were just signed, and all but one are from local Chattanooga high schools.

Cydney Brock is 6’1” out of Cleveland High School in Cleveland. She is the daughter of Brian and Casey Brock and has two siblings, Cammy and Gunny. She plans to study photography at Cleveland State. She was named Most Improved in both volleyball and basketball freshman year, received the Blocking Award her sophomore and junior seasons, earned a varsity letter in her sophomore year, received the Sportsmanship Award her junior year, and was also the Senior Lady Raider award winner. Academically, she received the Freshman English award, was named to the Junior 3.5 GPA or higher list, and also received the Senior Scholar award.

Josie Worley is 5’6” out of Sequatchie County High School in Dunlap. She is the daughter of Tim and Jennifer Worley and has a brother, Shelby. She plans to study occupational therapy at Cleveland State. She was named the Volleyball MVP her senior year and was also named the Co-Volleyball Player of the Year in her junior season. Her academic accomplishments include getting a 102/100 grade in anatomy and physiology. 

Loryn Wilson is 5’5” out of Gibbs High School in Corryton. She is the daughter of Marcus  and Tobi and has three siblings, Brendan, Mickaela and Tamia, who will also be a member of Cleveland State’s 2019 squad. She will study biology with a pre-med track at Cleveland State. Her high school accomplishments include being named to the 2018 All-District team and becoming a member of the National Achievers Society.

Lydia Martin is 5’5” out of Cleveland High School in Cleveland. She is the daughter of Rob and Carrie Martin and has two siblings, Grace and Clinton. She plans to study forestry with a wildlife and fisheries emphasis at Cleveland State. She was named All-District twice and All-Region once for volleyball and once for softball. She also is an excellent student, posting a 4.0 GPA. 

Madeline Dasher is 5’9” out of Cleveland High School in Cleveland. She is the daughter of Jason and Carrie Dasher and has two siblings, a twin sister, Madison, and a brother, Maverick. She plans to study nursing at Cleveland State. Her high school accomplishments include being named a Raider Scholar and also one of Cleveland High’s members of the Daughters of the American Revolution, an organization that promotes patriotism and the preservation and education of American history.

Stephanie Burke is 5’6” out of Shiloh High School in Atlanta. She is the daughter of Vivian Mobley and Charles Burke. She has three siblings, Ashanté, Elizabeth and Alex. Her sister, Ashanté, played volleyball at South Carolina State University. She wants to study healthcare at Cleveland State so she can pursue a career in sports medicine. Her accomplishments in high school include being named All-Region four years, First Team All-County twice, and Second Team All-County once. She has received the Coach Award three times and earned a varsity letter all four years of her career. 

Tamia Wilson is 5’6” out of Gibbs High School in Corryton. She is the daughter of Marcus and Tobi Wilson and has three siblings, Brendan, Mickael and Loryn, who will also be a member of the 2019 team. She wants to study therapy at Cleveland State. Her accomplishments at Gibbs include being named All-District and All-Tournament and playing a role in Gibbs’ District Championship season.
