Monday Round-up: Elizabethton baseball, Unaka softball take wins

Elizabethton 14, Tri-City Flames 4 (baseball)
Evan Perkins tallied four RBI to power Elizabethton to a win on Monday night. Perkins went 2-for-3 at the plate, while Evan Carter and Karson Dillard also added two hits. In all, 10 Cyclones reached base with hits.

Will Livingston pitched a gem as he allowed just one hit and one unearned run on four hits.


University High 11, Hampton 2 (baseball)
The Bulldogs were unable to keep pace with a strong UH squad on Monday evening despite a hard-fought effort.
Josh Owens led the way at the plate with a 2-for-3 performance, while Weston Street went 2-for-4. Dalton Rouse and Parker Henry each added a hit.

Morgan Lyons allowed four earned runs on seven hits with five strikeouts on the mound.

Sullivan South 12, Happy Valley 2 (baseball)
Happy Valley was unable to recover from a big second-inning from South as the Rebels took an 8-0 lead during the second frame.

Lucas Chausse was 1-for-1 at the plate to lead HV with an RBI. Charlie Smith allowed two earned runs on six hits in three innings of work for HV.

North Greene 14, Cloudland 0 (baseball)
Collin Morgan went 3-for-3 at the plate, but CHS was unable to keep pace with the torrid offensive attack from North Greene. Damian Black was 1-for-2 for CHS.

Dave Ramey allowed just six hits with just over three innings of work on the mound.

Happy Valley 8, Sullivan Central 4 (softball)
The Lady Warriors jumped out early for a Three Rivers Conference win on Monday evening.

Abby Holt threw a gem from the circle as she allowed just four earned runs on six hits while recording five strikeouts in a complete game effort.

Maddie Lingerfelt, Macy Puckett and Maddie Lingerfelt had three hits apiece, while Allie Grindstaff added two hits.


Elizabethton 10, Gate City 6 (softball)
The Lady Cyclones saw a seventh-inning rally fall short in nonconference action.

Maddie O’Quinn, Kira Dillard, Kallista Deprimo, Madisun Pritchard and Marley Wagner each had two hits for EHS, while Maggie Johnson added a hit to the Elizabethton cause. O’Quinn and Dillard had two RBI apiece.

The Lady Cyclones saw three pitchers share the circle as Hannah Edwards, Kalie Peters and Pritchard each add solid outings.

Unaka 18, Hampton 0 (softball)
The Lady Rangers scored 12 runs in the opening inning and never looked back.

Madison Pierce was 3-for-3 with four RBI, while Kendall Bare had a 3-for-3 day at the plate with two RBI. Taylor Shanks, Tayla Potter and Alana Parsons each had two hits. Potter had an impressive five RBI on the day.

Sadie Shoun and Macy Williams combined to throw a no-hitter.
