Dobyns-Bennett senior Courtney Whitson has been selected to participate in the 2019 Basketball Coach’s Association of Tennessee Girls’ All-Star Games.

The 10th annual event is set for Saturday, March 23 in Murfreesboro at Blackman High School.

The top players from across the state of Tennessee will comprise four girls’ teams and four boys’ teams with each team playing twice.

Whitson averaged 23.2 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game this past season, leading the Lady Indians to school-record 28 wins and a spot in the Class AAA sections.

Named as the Big 7 Conference Player of the Year for a third time, Whitson as also a 2019 McDonald’s All American Nominee, 2019 Tennessee Miss Basketball Nominee, and 2019 Gatorade Player of the Year Nominee. 

The 6-0 wing is Dobyns-Bennett all-time boys and girls leading scorer (2,456) and all-time boys and girls leading rebounder (1,463).

Whitson also the school’s single season boys and girls record-holder for points (836) and rebounds (389) and broke the girls’ school record 73 three-pointers this season.

Currently uncommitted, Whitson holds well over 20 Division I offers including a bevy from the Atlantic Sun, Ohio Valley and Southern Conferences.
