Thursday Round-up: HV takes win over Hampton

Happy Valley 11, Hampton 4 (Baseball)
The Warriors methodically pulled away for a win on Thursday night.

Happy Valley pushed out to a 9-0 lead after three innings, but Hampton battled back with four run sin the top of the fifth. The Bulldogs, however, ere unable to continue the rally.

Dylan McKeehan and Zac Workman had two hits a piece for Happy Valley, while Dylan Willis recorded two RBI. Hampton was paced by two hits apiece from Caleb Royston and Dylan Rouse. Rouse recorded two RBI in the game.

On the mound, Bryce Carter picked up the win as he allowed just two earned runs on two hits in just over four innings of work. Parker Henry allowed just six earned runs on seven hits for the Bulldogs.

Unaka 11, Providence Academy 8 (baseball)
The Rangers took a thrilling win in the eighth inning on Thursday evening in nonconference action.

John Ramsey and Daniel Ensor were 3-for-4 to power the way for Unaka. Ramsey knocked in two runs in the top of the inning. Daniel Shearl picked up in the win with a masterful performance in relief of Joe Slagle who also had a strong showing on the mound.

Hampton 12, Mitchell County (N.C.) 5 (softball)
The Lady Bulldogs rolled to claim their first victory of the year on Thursday.

Maddie Setlock, Sara Orr and Sophie Cable each had two hits, while Reagan Baker scored three runs for the home team.
Bailey Andrews picked up the win in the circle for the Lady Bulldogs.
