Eagleville's Ryley McClaran tops DNJ's 2018-19 all-area boys basketball team

Ryley McClaran came to Eagleville with a lot of hype.

He did nothing to lessen that sentiment during the 2018-19 season.

After building a reputation as one of the state's top scorers as a sophomore at Forrest last season, McClaran transferred to Eagleville to play for first-year coach and his dad, Davy McClaran, and led the Eagles to their first state tournament berth in more than a decade.

Eagleville's Ryley McClaran (3) shoots a three point basket as Columbia Academy's Sky Polk (4) guards him during the semifinal round of the TSSAA Class A Boys State Tournament, on Thursday, March 15, 2019, at Murphy Center in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

He averaged 24.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and almost three assists a game in guiding Eagleville to 29 wins and a state semifinals berth. His efforts have earned him the nod as The Daily News Journal's all-area boys player of the year.

Following is the DNJ's 2018-19 all-area boys basketball team:
